celer is the
sound, visual, literary, and artistic endeavor of the husband and
wife duo of will long and danielle baquet-long (she sadly passed
in july '09). celer fastly gained a big name in the
ambient/experimental world thanks to exquisite self-releases and
soon was approached by numerous international renowned labels
such as infraction, and/oar, mystery sea, smallfish or spekk (a
collaboration with mathieu ruhlmann).
based upon strings, samples and field recordings, this 22min is
another example of the simple beauty celer was able to create...

What Drone Records does with 7"s, does Taalem with
3"CDR releases. Quite a success and getting more and more
great names added to the series. People that we know otherwise
from the real CD releases, which aren't afraid to put something
out on a 3"CDR. Celer for instance gained quite a reputation
in a short time span. What I didn't know about Celer is that
Danielle Baquet-Long, one half of Celer, passed away in July 2009
of heart failure. Since then no new works are created, and all
works that are released now, are from the duo of Will Long and
Danielle Baquet-Long, recorded before that. 'All At Once Is What
Eternity Is' is a very fine piece, a signature Celer piece.
Meandering drones, with some acoustic sounds in the early parts
of the piece. Maybe the sound of crop fields in the wind, along
with some bells and chimes. An excellent piece of music. [...]

Après la sélection 100% japonaise du bimestre dernier,
Taâlem se tourne aujourd'hui vers les Etats-Unis dont sont
originaires les trois artistes de cette série de sorties.
Celer ouvre le bal en beauté, avec le splendide "All at
once is what Eternity is", vingt-deux minutes d'une musique

Just imagine
finding the love of your life ... And in the years together work
on art together in which the purest and most sincere of your
emotions find their place ... And then lose that person ... It
happenes to many, and it's sadly a mere fact of life. Probably
most of us already encountered losing 'someone' and a few of us
maybe that deforementioned "one" ...
Celer is the couple Will Long and Danielle Baquet-Long and is
sadly no longer in existence after the death of Danielle on july
8th 2009, age 26. The information about the choice to release
this work - the when, the how - is not available, but it does
invite to find out more about the earlier output of Celer
This release is the first time I ever heard of them and their
project and I must say I am very pleasently surprised. "All
At Once Is What Eternity Is" is a combination of droney
samples with classical, stringlike structures in combination with
fieldrecordings. Music like this would fit very well on a label
like Projekt.
The ghostly image on the CD of a staircase in an industrial area
fits the music very well. Another proof for the 'full
package" Taalem deliveres time after time. 8.7 (Bauke)
